Best Functional Medicine Practitioners
Practitioners who work on root causes of aging-related decline through comprehensive testing and individualised protocols.
What to look for
Credentials vary enormously in this category, so check them directly rather than relying on the word functional. Ask whether the person seeing you holds a medical, osteopathic, naturopathic, chiropractic, or nutrition licence, and whether they can prescribe and order labs in your state.
Ask how testing is priced and whether the practice sells the supplements it recommends. Neither is disqualifying, but a practice that profits on both the test and the product it triggers has an incentive worth knowing about before you start.
A good first visit spends most of its time on history and produces a small number of specific, testable changes. A first visit that produces a large supplement order and a large panel before any history has been taken is a different kind of business.
